Follow the Smartboard-The children pick their favourite Kandinsky painting and then work with children in teams, who also chose the same fave painting as them, to do a presentation to explain why it is their favorite. The children really enjoy creating a beautiful symmetrical piece of patch work which can be hung together all year as a lovely colourful display. I am proud of my original idea, inspired by a book on Amish patchwork. PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK! No sowing involved! I used fabric glue instead! A great project for the autumn term. The Smart board slides show examples of what the patch work piece might look like but the slides and lesson plans take them step by step through creating their own unique piece.
